Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lam Ho is a Vietnamese American poet and essayist whose work has appeared in Maudlin House, HuffPost, Noise Magazine, Gyroscope Review, and Call Me [Brackets]. Her poem, "Amerasian," was recognized as a 1st Runner Up for the Winds of Asia Award by Kinsman Quarterly and is featured in an accompanying anthology. Her writing has received support from the Starshine Arts Collective, GrubStreet, Fairfield County Writers’ Studio, and The Writer’s Center. She is the recipient of a residency at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts and Sundress Academy for the Arts, as well as a scholarship to attend Aspen Words.
Inspired by her travels and the rich storytelling of her immigrant parents, Lam's writing explore themes of migration, grief, and hope. She is currently working on her first full-length poetry collection, as well as her first essay collection.
A graduate of Sewanee: The University of the South, Lam holds degrees in English and Environment & Sustainability. She currently studies at the University of New Mexico in pursuit of an MFA in Poetry. She lives with her partner, Jonathan, and a mildly famous cat named Jose.
